Jacob Smart

"A Whole Lot Better than Last Week!"

Jacob Smart

The Run-A-Ree race was not very kind to Jacob Smart last week. Leg problems caused him to drop out of the race prior to the 2 mile mark. However, Saturday was the day of redemption for Jacob, in a huge way. At the Saxon Invitational, he was our first Future Varsity boy across the line in 20:39. This was a 2:05 P.R., the biggest of the day for any Panther! Jacob is one big reason we refer to the JV races as Future Varsity races, as he has been on the fast track to making the varsity squad the past 13 months.

Panthers Turn to a New 'Paige'

Paige Roberts

Junior Paige Roberts found her way to Washougal High School this year. She also found her way onto the XC team. The first week, she exhibited enough signs that she would definitely contribute to the team at the varsity level. Her first race was solid, but her race at the Saxon Invite was much more intense - we think she figured out how to race, as she is our #2 runner, closing in on #1. Her pre-race smile was dynamic, and post-race was just as shiny, as she exceeded her expectations. Welcome to the team Paige.
