Collin Manning

"Hockinson Meadows? I'll be Fifth Runner Then!"

Collin Manning

Hockinson Meadows and Fifth Runner: It seems to be a recurring theme for Collin Manning. At all the other racing this season, Collin has been our sixth or seventh runner, or even further back. There is honor in being one of our scoring 5, like getting your name in the paper. Both times we set foot on this course, Collin has moved up to a counting position, runner #5 - his 20th place performance also puts him in good position to earn "Honorable Mention" in our league for the 2012 season. Keep up the good work Collin! We are counting on you to keep helping the team score in races to come.

Poetry in Motion

Sydney Hickey

From nearly a half a mile away, you could still see poetry in motion - it was Sydney Hickey showcasing her sweet stride at Hockinson Meadows. It was obvious that she had the best running form of the seven in the Future Varsity race. Inspired by Milo of Croton, Sydney's daily diligence of working on her form has paid off. Her poetic running form was a big factor in her victory by nearly 2 full minutes! When asked by Coach Frost if she thought she would ever win a race when she switched from Volleyball to XC, Sydney Hickey responded with an emphatic "No". That all changed this week!
