In the sport of High School Cross Country, sometimes official results are not necessarily the most accurate. For Sean Eustis, his PR effort at South Salem at the beginning of the season was one of those in question. The coaches' clocks said 16:01 when the official time was 15:59. So was there a question whether or not Sean has run under 16? Well, now there is not as he crushed the 16 minute barrier by running 15:40 at Fernhill park, good enough for 6th place and just 12 seconds off the school record! Now Sean's PR is totally legit, and his performance sets him up as one of the favorites for the 2A State Meet.
While falling short of her coaches expectations most of the season (as well as her own), the goal for Hannah Wright was to chop off 30 seconds from the previous week's time, and about 20 off her PR from South Salem. Hannah perfectly executed her first mile, then proceeded to pass another 50+ people, crossing the finish line with one of her strongest kicks ever, nearly a full minute faster than last week. Her 22:11 is the 2nd fastest Panther time of the season and the biggest Panther PR of the day at Concordia.
