Jamison Wright

"It doesn't really matter what Uniform I wear...

Bailey Duncan

I will still count as varsity!" Last week, Jamison Wright ran his first XC race of his life. He ran well in the top ten out of 82 runners, but due to marred results, he was cheated out of his ribbon. He ran well, but fell a bit short of making the top seven to warrant a varsity uniform. This week, we ran all the boys together in our double dual meet with RA Long and Ridgefield. All the boys were informed that they were eligible for varsity scoring regardless of the uniform they were wearing. Jamison ran with purpose and improved significantly over last week, jumping from runner #9 to runner #5, thus being one of our scorers. In doing so, he earned five valuable varsity points towards his letter. He may have a quiet demeanor off the course, but his actions on the XC courses are making a big statement.

Amelia Pullen

"What Can I do to get faster?"

Amelia Pullen<

Well, how about some extra miles on the treadmill? That's what Amelia Pullen figured out on her own. For her weekend workout, she headed towards the treadmill intending to put in a couple of miles. After two, it was hard to stop... she kept going and going, like the energizer bunny! The next two was still not enough to satisfy her desire to achieve and enjoy her workout. Since four was not near enough, she doubled that, plus another half a mile. Eight and a half miles was a new personal record. In this week's meet, she tore up the course, racing hard from start to finish. Her "long run on the weekend" strategy worked like a charm! Amelia loves her running, and she will love it even more when she finishes her castle that she has been designing in her mind the past few months.
