Bryan Lange

"I Really Like the Number 8"

Bryan Lange

Well, that is what it appears Bryan is thinking based on the last number of his finishing times this year. At Tillamook, Bryan ran 25:08. The next week he ran 24:08 at Hood River Valley. Earlier this week, he duplicated his time from Tillamook on Woodland's new course. Going into the Nike meet, his goal was to run 23:08. However, he was supercharged by the "Run, Baby, Run" song and other "Positive Mind Games" of the week and surpassed that goal by 40 seconds. Now that put his finishing time at 22:28 - yep, still ends with an 8! The chances of having 4 times ending with the same number is 1 in a thousand. Maybe he is ready for Vegas! Bryan ran the biggest PR of the day of any of the High School kids, and we are very sure that he will continue to run PR's throughout his career.

Lydia Lyall

"Can I Have My Varsity Jacket Now?"

Lydia Lyall

Orange is a great color for Super-Models, especially bright orange. Well, at least for our self-proclaimed Super-Model Lydia Lyall as she now gets to display one of the bright orange Varsity Sweat Tops. The day before the Nike meet, Lydia was a bit hesitant to race at the varsity Level. With Meredith Collins out of the picture since she was on the other side of the country, Lydia got the call to run varsity. She was sick earlier in the week and missed the Woodland/Hockinson meet. But at Nike, she came through with flying colors (probably orange) while finishing as our "all important 5th runner" as she was apparently motivated to earn one of the coveted orange tops. Now she has top notch apparel as she plans to waltz down the XC fashion runway on her way to new PR's this season.
