Mind Over Matter.
In regards to the title of this lesson, we will more accuractly be looking at how your mind influences your body. For a positive look at things, let's check out this little clip: We all have those voices in our head; which one we listen to will have a major influence on which path we take, in all aspects of our lives: "Power of positive thinking to the test." is what the ending of that should have said. In terms of how well this works, let's give something to smile about... Having said that, the approach to each race (test or interview as well) is with a smile on our faces. NO EXCEPTIONS! We will talk more about the whole body in the next lesson, but for now, find those thoughts that make you smile as you approach the starting line. Always take your best races with you. Now it is time to examine how what we hear affects what we see, or affects how we interpret what we see. As you can see (or actually as you can hear), what you listen to does affect the way you feel. There in lies the reason for our "Bus Music." The music itself can have a postive effect, but so do the words (lyrics) that we focus on. Many of the phrases in our bus music positively enhance that "mirror image" that we touched base on when we talked about our signature reflecting who we are. We almost always perform in accordance with who we think we are. Now for the real test! The results should prove to be a "Slam Dunk!" Encouragement Team - see how important you are?!?! Notice we do not have a Dis-couragement team. ALL TALK TO YOUR TEAMMATES AND YOURSELF MUST BE POSITIVE! Negative things will happen in a race; just as the former college athlete in the video we must learn to filter out the external negatives and stay focused on the internal positives. This is how the mind controls the body.
