      Welcome to Washington State History:            

This course introduces students to the Pacific Northwest and Washington State in particular as a political and geographic region of the United States and the Pacific Rim. Topics of study include discovery, exploration, statehood, Washington State Government, immigration, and current economic and environmental issues. Special attention is paid to the culture and heritage of Native Americans of the Pacific Northwest and to the rich cultural diversity of the region.

  To successfully complete this course you will be required to complete ALL OF THE PROJECTS, complete a 3-ring binder, and the essential readings. The projects, while requiring writing and research, are fun. You may take an exam after completing the projects to receive .5 high school credits.

COMPLETION BY MAY 1st ALLOWS YOU TO SKIP 1 WRITTEN TASK.

ALL TASKS MUST BE COMPLETED AND SUBMITTED BY JUNE 1st to

meet the graduation requirement!
